Thought I should say that I'm pretty familiar with the basics of BDSM; and while I am happy to hear anything anyone has to say about it in relation to the post, what I was writing about was something a bit different than that (to my mind, anyway).

A couple of the folks over at that corner of the universe have talked about that sort of thing usefully -- the edge of the wild, and the aching for it. I figured they might have something useful to say, somewhere along the line.
